The One With The Videotape

An extra long pod today to make up for our absence! We are on a season 8 highlight, The One With The Videotape.  We talk making friends on flights, travel souvenirs, delis and sonograms.  We reminisce about VHS/VCRs and Craig David.  There's a brief look at George Clooney's career and some confusion about the word volume and what a bottle episode is.  Enjoy!

So I was backpacking across Western Europe...

The One With All The Candy

Welcome everyone to another season 7 highlight and it's food based again, it's the One With All The Candy. Join us for talk of pocket parks, BCG scars and cycling mishaps.  We ponder whether we really want to encourage our Jersey-milk guzzling neighbours around and we muse our the role of HR.  Anyone got any naughty limericks?

It’s a legitimate learning technique.

The One With All The Cheesecakes

I hope you've got your dessert fork ready, it's a season 7 highlight: The One With All The Cheesecakes. The episode is a culinary delight with discussions of cheesecake flavours, toastie fillings and our new feature 'What Heinz are you having?'. We talk whether it's appropriate to bring a first date to a wedding, or a Sunday lunch. And we really do have a new feature- Trivial Friends. Get you map out, locate Minsk and enjoy the episode!

Oh, you say someone's name enough, they turn around.

The One With Ross' Teeth

Switch on that black light, it’s time for another season 6 highlight, it’s The One With Ross’ Teeth.  This episode we contemplated new hobbies of knitting, hammering up stone walls, and soaking our fingers in water.  As we practice our elevator pitches we ponder what a dust ruffle is and whether a pillow cushion is a pillow…or…a cushion.  And forget waistcoat watch, in season 6 we're on potpourri watch.  Put aside your girly things, grab your hacky sack and jump right in!

Your teeth? Yeah, I saw them from outside.

The One On The Last Night

Happy Noooo Year! We're back for Series 5 of the podcast and carrying on with our highlight episodes, so join us for a Season 6 highlight- The One on the Last Night. We kick of with some innuendo, reminisce about our own moving out tales, and review the US version of Ghosts (having never seen it). Our hot topic this week is: is Potpourri making a comeback? Deal us a hand of Cups and let's get going!

Do you wanna live outside?! Because it’s gettin’ cold!

The One With The End of Series 4 Summary

Sure it took us a while to get there while we mourned the loss of a queen (RIP Angela), we're finally at our end of podcast series 4 summary! Join us for the return of HotGoss and a look back at some other 90s programmes, namely CD:UK and The Clothes Show (what was that about?). We found out where Montauk is (again), whether you need to camp to get a DofE award and who is streaking ahead as Best Friend. We try and draw together some conclusions about the early seasons but find we've mostly just talked about opthamology this series. Hope you'll join us next series for some more poorly-informed nonsense.

The One With Joey's Big Break

We hit the ground running this episode with some #HotGoss about a member of the cast (we simply can’t say more than that).  Then we get onto the actual point of the episode, a season 5 highlight. There’s yet more eye doctor chat and we narrowly avoid re-litigating the optician vs ophthalmologist case.  We ponder what Honey Puffed Wheat is made out of (.....), try out Phoebe’s game and debate whether Shutter Speed would be better than Interstellar and Ant-Man (almost certainly).  Oh and some bridge identification and eye-drop guidance.  Something for everyone.

That game should not be played without my supervision.

TO Where Everybody Finds out

We're onto a Season 5 episode, and we've had surprisingly few of those so it better be a good one. We discuss the window as a theatrical device, our bedtime animal pals and we list our top 3 cute nations. We get foxy with Fox Mulder and Sam Fox while drooling over cookie cakes and sandwich fillings. And don't miss us discussing the 90s second best TV show.....Gladiators. Have a hug of Hugsy and jump right in.

My eyes! My eyes!

TO With Ross's Wedding

It’s our second season 4 highlight and it’s London baby!  Join us for some reminiscing about travel in the 90s- traveller’s cheques, camcorders, actual maps.  We get pedantic over Big Ben and Union Jacks and offer advice on wedding food and flowers.  You’ll even get a London in a nutshell guide to the top sights (the ones we remember to include).  Sure it has some odd cameos but it’s London baby.

Man, you are Westminster Crabby.

TOWT Jellyfish

Here’s a rare treat, a season four highlight. In this episode Ross is still banging on about this ‘we were on a break’ thing and we say hello to a couple of great Sub-Cs. We find out where Mantauk is but are confused about a Gremlin. We count the colours of our bedrooms, technicolour dreamcoats and Crayola sets, just one colour for Mrs Hinch, mind. And if you do get stung by a jellyfish perhaps best not to follow the same drastic measures….

You had rambled on for 18 pages....FRONT AND BACK!

TOWT Morning After

Save it til the morning after! Duran Duran had some tunes didn’t they? Anyway here’s another season three highlight. We present evidence to the ‘we were on a break’ trial, balk at Ross’ hideous apartment and critique waxing techniques. There’s talk of Purple Ronnie and old Nokias. You’ll think you're back in the 90s and while we’re on that…..ummm, hello? Let’s bring back some 90s sarcasm. Anyone want anchovies with that?

What were you trying to put it in, her purse?

TOWT Flashback

Hello and which Friend are you channelling today? Today's episode is a Season Three highlight (ahem). We play the dramatic irony drinking game, look for future continuity errors, find a new contender for Waistcoast Watch and welcome back a Sub-C from the dead. There are village fete tales and some confusion over the etymology of Pickelback/Nickleback. Are you a secret lemonade drinker?

Just coffee? Where are we gonna hang out now?

TO Where Ross and Rachel... You Know

Settle down for another season two highlight, it's the One Where Ross and Rachel...You Know. We start off with some RIDGs (Reference I Don't Get) early doors and then get lost in the world of infomercials. We Talk to Frank again and remember some 90s classics such as Beavis and Butthead and CD changers. In scenes reminiscent of the orthodontist/dentist debate we spend so long ophthalmologists vs opticians that we had to pause the episode. You can catch up with part two soon. Trigger warning: there's a smattering of graphic eye talk so just drown that out by thinking about all the useless stuff you've bought from infomercials.

They were chair-shaped cows. They never would have survived in the wild.

Welcome back for part deux! If you haven't already heard the first part of this episode, then go back and listen to that first you fool! In this half we discuss Ross and Rachel's poor first date choice, silly sausage and is laughing while kissing normal. There's some further education from a glasses-wearer to a non-glasses wearer and we question Ross' anthropology credentials.

You just rolled over the juice box.
